How did you hear about the Arise® Platform?
I was just surfing the internet looking for something to do with my time because I am disabled, and I ended up down a rabbit hole and once I found it online, and I was like, “Yep, that’s what I want to do!”
What do you like most about using the Arise® Platform, and why?
I like the ability to create my own schedule. With the stuff I have going on in my personal life, it gets hard sometimes, but being able to create my schedule helps me take control of my life a little better – and I’m happier too.
Tell me a story in which you feel your service made a positive impact on someone’s life?
Really easy!
When I take each call, I ask how they’re doing. At least once a week, I get someone who’s like, “You know, I’m actually not having a great day.”
But when I get off the phone with them and I have helped them, they’re in a much better mood.
They’re going to go on a cruise! They’re excited, and they’re ready to have fun!
And I get to live vicariously through them [Laughs].
How does that make you feel when you’re able to help someone?
It gives me a sense of pride. It makes me feel confident, and it makes me feel accomplished.
I feel like I have done something that’s a huge accomplishment—and I am proud of myself for helping someone else.
What do you like most about the cruise line client?
The cruise line client has procedures in place that help me give options to the guests that call.
And using the Arise® Platform gives me a chance to help the guests explore the world with their families. I’m able to give them the help they needed when planning their cruise.
Do you have any advice for those who are new to the Arise® Platform?
Just know that it is not as scary as you might think. It’s actually really gratifying!
