In honor of Juneteenth, Arise will be supporting the NAACP Legal Defense Fund by donating a portion of our revenue for every hour serviced through the platform this coming Friday, June 19th. We’ll announce the total amount raised the week of June 22nd.
We chose to align the donation on this date in recognition of the ending of slavery in the United States. Known as Juneteenth, short for June 19th, it celebrates the day the last slaves were freed in Galveston, TX in 1865 (two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation).
We are proud to make a positive contribution towards justice being served for all through support of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and are committed to helping build a country and a world where everyone can live with dignity and free from fear.
UPDATED AS OF 6/24/2020: The numbers are in and we are proud to make a donation in the amount of $25,000.
