CEO Letter, A Message from Mohit Thukral
At Arise, our commitment to empowering businesses and Service Partners through our innovative digital platform has always been at the heart of what we do. Arise began with the goal of helping people with disabilities re-enter the workforce. The Arise® Platform launched to enable a network of small enterprises to provide inbound call center resources. Recognizing the difficulty people with disabilities faced in finding suitable employment, the platform offered flexible and remote features. Since then, technology has advanced, our platform has evolved, and volume and referrals have grown meaningfully. Nonetheless, our goal of providing economic opportunity to small businesses and entrepreneurs has stayed true.

The National Black Caucus of State Legislators
"We too believe that, ‘People should have flexibility and control over where, when, and how they work.’ Arise partners with over 75,000 independent contractors, the overwhelming majority of whom are Black mothers. Importantly, nearly half of these women do not own a home and utilize their partnership with Arise Virtual Solutions to help support their dreams of homeownership. Arise is not only helping Black mothers secure homes for themselves and their families but is also working to reduce the wealth gap between Black people and other populations in this country."The Collective PAC
"Arise brings economic opportunities to underserved and often overlooked communities, including military families and veterans, students looking for flexible work, parents and stay-at-home moms, retirees seeking connection, limited mobility and disability populations, and areas with few economic opportunities."U.S. Black Chambers, Inc.
"Thousands of Black community members across the country use the Arise® Platform to build thriving small businesses, creating essential economic opportunities for themselves and others in their communities."Service Partner Advisory Representative Council
"Collectively, SPARC business owners – representing seven states and thousands of agents nationwide – have experienced first-hand the pivotal role that flexible work arrangements play in supporting our families while also dedicating time to the activities and people we love. … The flexibility afforded by Arise’s unique business model has truly been a game changer for our families, enabling us to navigate life’s demands with greater ease and harmony."Addressing Important Questions
Does Arise plan to change how it operates following the recent settlements?
Arise plans to operate in normal course. These settlements do not affect our ability to do our work, to run our platform, or to connect world-class companies with our Service Partners and their Agents that provide outstanding services and support.
What was required of Arise as part of the settlements?
Each settlement’s Consent Order outlined requirements that Arise agreed to adhere to. At a high level, this included providing monetary payments and implementing certain practices and changes to business operations and software as well as advertising and marketing materials. Additionally, in the settlement with the District of Columbia Attorney General, Arise agreed to exit D.C., though the company already stopped sourcing Service Partners there in 2022.
Do you have additional settlements coming?
We chose to settle these matters so we could continue moving our business forward without the ongoing expense and distraction of litigation. Each settlement decision was a business one and none were made lightly. We will not speculate on potential litigation.
